Website Design

A great website instills trust that you can solve your audience’s problems.

Let’s make sure your potential customers can find you and feel assured about your services or products.

Website Design Process

Phase 1

Discovery & Initial Design

~1 week

Yasss! You’ve made a great decision to get your website designed professionally for the first time, or made over to align with your brand.

Once we’ve had our Discovery Call, you’ve digitally signed my website design agreement and sent over your deposit, we’ll schedule a Web Strategy meeting to plan your website’s goals, needs, and structure.

Before we meet for Web Strategy, you’ll start gathering any necessary pictures, copy, and files for your site. We can use DropBox, Google Drive, or JumpChart for organizing this content.

After our meeting, I’ll start putting together your website on Squarespace and set up any related accounts you need (e.g. business email, scheduling platforms, etc.). To safely share any login credentials for these accounts, we’ll use Bitwarden.

In about a week’s time, we’ll meet again to go over the initial design of your website.

Phase 2

Revision

~1 week

We’ll meet via Zoom to look over the preliminary design of your website. Any requested tweaks will be noted and changed during the upcoming week.

I’ll also continue working on adding any remaining content and triple checking for functionality, accessibility, and SEO optimization.

Phase 3

Finalization & Transfer

~1 week

We’ll meet again in about another week’s time to do a final check of your website. Once everything looks good to you and you seal the deal by sending over your balance, I’ll transfer ownership of the site to you and the website is officially yours! I’ll be doing a happy dance and popping some bubbly to celebrate in honor of your beautiful new website!

I’ll be available for 30 days afterwards for any technical assistance and training on updating your website.

If you’d rather outsource your regular updates to your site, website maintenance support is also available for an hourly rate, half day rate, or full day rate. Please contact me for more details.

Website Q&As

  • If you want potential customers or clients to trust your business, you need a well designed website.

It’s not enough to only have a business social media page or account. While it can be helpful and may be functional enough for a business to have some online presence, nothing beats having an independent website. Your own website shows visitors you’re serious about what you do and offer, and it gives you a much stronger sense of legitimacy in most people’s eyes.

  • While that is ideal to have all your content ready before the website design starts, it can be put together along the way. Usually, once we talk about the strategy and plan for your website, it will be easier to determine what content is needed for each page.

Clients generally will then have about a week to gather the needed information and content. Changes to copy and images can be made later.

  • I specialize in designing on Squarespace and recommend it to all of my clients. I love that it includes domain and website hosting, plus the most user-friendly interface on the market. Empowering my clients to update their sites afterwards is very important to me, so I want them to use a platform they can easily manage.

I find that for the majority of solopreneurs and entrepreneurs, this platform will meet their needs the best. However, if I think another platform would be better suited for your needs, I will recommend it.

Since I am also a Squarespace Circle member, you will get the additional benefits of 20% off your first year with Squarespace and an extended 6 month trial period instead of the standard 2 weeks if they sign up on their own (hello, savings and no time crunch stress!).

  • No, I will guide you through the process and help you set up any needed accounts. During our Discovery Call, we can determine what platform is best for you.

If you already have an existing Squarespace website, that is fine and I can either redesign it or start a new one for you and transfer it to your Squarespace account once it’s completed.

  • It depends on your needs, but know that the nice thing about Squarespace is that it includes website hosting and its website builder in its fee. It can also register and host your domain for a separate fee (usually ~$20/year).

If you already have a domain registered elsewhere and want to keep it there, I can help you connect it to your Squarespace website.

If you want to keep your website hosting and domain hosting in one place, I can take care of transferring your domain over to Squarespace.

  • Depending on your needs, it can be as low as $12/month to $40/month (based on annual payment). If you work with me and have your site built on Squarespace, you’ll get 20% off your first year. The rate for a Squarespace subscription covers website hosting and many other benefits.

  • My standard web design package includes:

    • Customized Squarespace website (planning and design) with up to 8 pages (each page includes up to 3 revisions; more pages can be added for additional fee per page; pages for legal docs do not count toward the included page limit)

    • Copy editing

    • Contact forms connected to your email, MailChimp email subscriber list, Google Sheets, and potentially other third party accounts for lead tracking or email list.

    • SSL certificate (keeps your site secure)

    • Unlimited bandwidth

    • 30 minutes of video storage

    • SEO optimization

    • Mobile optimization

    • Basic website metrics

    • Exclusive client recommendations for professional email, legal documents to protect your website, and scheduling platforms.

    • 20% off your first year of Squarespace

Depending on your needs, additional features and services can be included such as:

    • E-commerce integration

    • Domain redirect setup

    • Professional email setup (including 10% off your first year with Google Workspace)

    • Social media account setup

    • Scheduling platform account setup

  • Each website is different, so timing may vary. On average, a website for a solopreneur or entrepreneur that features up to 8 pages will take 2-3 weeks to complete and will start at a rate of $3000.

Ecommerce sites may take 3+ weeks depending on the amount of products or services that are being sold, and start at a rate of $3500.

During our Discovery Call, I’ll have a better sense for what’s needed and will send you a proposal.

  • Yes, I can split up the payments further than my standard practice, if needed.

Generally, a 50% deposit is to be made before website design begins. Once the website is completed, the balance is to be paid within 7 days. Then, I will transfer ownership of the site to you.

Please feel free to contact me with any request to customize your payment plan.

Let’s help your business flourish with an amazing website.
